They collapse complex systems into single moments, misassign responsibility to individuals, erase design and governance, and then demand that someone choose correctly under pressure.
Each chapter takes a well-known dilemma, presents it plainly, identifies the assumptions doing the real work, and removes them. When those assumptions are gone, the dilemma dissolves.
What remains is not moral relativism or nihilism, but structure: roles, authority, incentives, consent, and system design. The book shows how urgency, scarcity, and necessity are repeatedly used to justify harm after responsibility has already been displaced upstream.
