This mysterious forest has an ancient Native American history that stretches back to a time long before the infamous and tragic Trail of Tears brought the Cherokee people to this region.
There is a sense of timelessness that surrounds this enchanting place, which overlooks the pristine waters of spring-fed creeks and the sparkling expanse of Lake Hudson in Mayes County, Oklahoma. Its dense forests and open glens are a haven for wildlife, where nature thrives in many forms, from the smallest, most timid creatures and beautiful birds to the more imposing inhabitants of the forest.
Bryn Mawr, named by Boyd, Don, Christopher and his children, four generations of the Morgan family, sits on the western edge of the Ozark Plateau. This ancient land overlooks the Neosho River Valley, once home to ancient Native American peoples, and now flooded by the waters of Lake Hudson. With its unique topography and diverse ecosystems, Bryn Mawr creates a natural sanctuary for a variety of species. The land is a mix of dense pine and oak forests, ravines, and a spring-fed creek, each contributing to the vibrant life that calls Bryn Mawr home. The seasons bring their own magic, from the lush greenery of spring and summer to the fiery colors of autumn and the serene, frosty landscapes of winter. Each visit to Bryn Mawr offers new discoveries, new stories, and a deeper connection with the natural world.
