Convicts were never supposed to be heroes.

The men of the 11th Praxeus crew one of the most dangerous weapons in the human fleet: an alien heavy cannon battery welded beneath the warship SV Eddee Kombee. The guns are powerful enough to tear through enemy ships-and dangerous enough to kill the men firing them.

Most of the crew are prisoners. Some took the assignment for reduced sentences. Others were simply given no better choice. Either way, they have learned to trust one another, trust their guns, and survive one battle at a time.

Then the SV Eddee Kombee jumps into what should have been a routine patrol-and straight into an ambush.

What follows is a brutal fight for survival against an enemy that has already destroyed much of the human fleet.

An unwinnable battle.

Or is it?

Angel of the 11th is a short military science-fiction story about war, loyalty, grief, sacrifice, and the people who become family when there is no one else left.
