Andree At The North Pole: With Details Of His Fate is a non-fiction book written by Leon Lewis. The book tells the story of Salomon August Andre, a Swedish engineer and explorer who attempted to reach the North Pole in a hydrogen balloon in 1897. The book provides a detailed account of Andre's ill-fated expedition, including his preparations for the trip, the launch of the balloon, and the subsequent disappearance of Andre and his two companions. Lewis draws on a range of sources, including Andre's own diaries and letters, to reconstruct the events of the expedition and to shed light on the fate of the explorers. The book also explores the wider context of Andre's expedition, including the political and scientific motivations behind it, and the impact it had on subsequent Arctic exploration. Overall, Andree At The North Pole: With Details Of His Fate is a gripping and informative account of one of the most daring and tragic expeditions in the history of Arctic exploration. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
