The ringing phone startled Amy awake. She opened her eyes and reached for her glasses, placing them on her face. The phone started ringing again and she reached for it though she really needed to get to the bathroom.
Yes? She answered tersely.
Amy, this is your mom. You need to come home, I know Tel Aviv is not as bad as Israel but it's all bad and Jeremy heard something is coming... Aura said, her voice filled with concern. Three months earlier when Amy decided to go to Tel Aviv to assist with the World Hunger organization Aura hadn't liked but she couldn't stop her. There had been war in Israel and the surrounding areas for over a year but Amy assured her it would be as safe as could be. Also, AJ was there. Blade Blackmon sponsored both of them for the four month assignment but Aura wanted Amy home immediately.
Mom...I promised four months...
Amy Dubois Brown Felipe I'm sending tickets for you and KJ and you better get on that plane, I don't care how old you are. Do you hear me? Aura said hysterically which startled Amy, Aura didn't do hysterical.
Yes ma'am, I need to talk to my team leader and call AJ to talk to his, we aren't in the same dorm.
That's handled, just pack up and get to the airport. AJ's father and Jeremy spoke to him. We offered assistance to any others with your group who want to come home. This is serious. You've got two hours before a car pick you up, call me when you get to the airport.
Yes ma'am. I love you mom.
I love you, now push it. Aura said and ended the call.
