Survival is one of my favorite words and concepts. It speaks to experiences one has lived through, and in some ways wishes others were still around as well. My time in the streets as an addict of various persuasions should have taken me out before the age of thirty-three, but it did not. Plus, in recovery, I've had a few health issues that could have finished the job: Hepatitis-C, Ninety-nine percent blockage of the Circumflex Artery, and some Venous Leg issues, but I survived again. So, as a particular type of writer I've put together this travelogue, as it were, of people, places, and events that may have happened, or could have happened. My career as an addiction counselor allowed me to share the lives of many who survived as well. Spend time with them and rediscover why fiction is important to live in the real world, and in a sense, how addiction saved my life.
