Preface:

The Alaska Notary Public Handbook is an official-style educational reference designed to organize, preserve, and present Alaska laws governing notarial practice.

This updated edition corrects prior RULONA-style citation issues, removes duplicated administrative material, and adds best-practice guidance after each section. This 2026 source check uses the Alaska Lieutenant Governor's notary statute page, related Lieutenant Governor guidance, HB 124 remote and electronic notarization materials, 6 AAC 88 remote-notarization regulations, AS 09.63 acknowledgment and verification provisions, AS 09.80 UETA, AS 45.03.505, and 39 C.F.R. section 222.2. The Lieutenant Governor's public notary-statute page is a useful primary practical source, but it should not be treated as the only source for the remote and electronic notarization framework; AS 44.50.075, AS 44.50.078, AS 44.50.145, AS 44.50.165, AS 44.50.185, and 6 AAC 88 must also be checked.
