This book starts with a simple truth: Afrikan people built great civilizations long before meeting European people. Our ancestors created their own ways of thinking, learning, and living together. They built pyramids, studied the stars, and wrote down wisdom that still guides us today. This is where we begin-not as a response to anyone else, but standing on our own ground.
Dr. Tracy L. Johnson takes readers on a journey through history. You will learn how ancient Greek thinkers traveled to Afrika to study with Kemetic (Egyptian) teachers. You will see how ideas were taken from Afrikan people and called Western or Greek. You will understand how this taking and hiding where things really came from created patterns of anger and fear we still see today.
The Afrikan Personality is the name scholars use for the special way Afrikan people see and move through the world. This way of being comes from thousands of years of wisdom. It teaches us that I am because we are-that we belong to each other. It shows us that anger can be righteous when it fights for justice, and that fear can be faced when we stand together.
Whiteness works differently. This book looks at whiteness not as a skin color but as a system built on taking what belongs to others. Dr. Johnson shows how whiteness uses anger to control and fear to dominate. Understanding these patterns helps us see what we face and what strength we carry.
