Betrachtungen Über Die Sittlichkeit Der Vergnügungen, or Reflections on the Morality of Pleasures, is a treatise by Martin Ehlers exploring the ethical dimensions of enjoyment and social customs. Presented in two parts, this volume delves into the philosophical underpinnings of morality as it relates to pleasure-seeking and the accepted norms of society.
Written in Afrikaans, this book offers a unique perspective on 18th-century moral philosophy, providing insight into the intellectual discourse of the time. Ehlers' work examines the boundaries between acceptable and unacceptable pleasures, challenging readers to consider the broader implications of their choices within a societal context. This historical work offers valuable insights into the evolution of ethical thought and the enduring relevance of moral considerations in everyday life.
