An Account Of The Southern Maritime Provinces Of France by Sir William Mildmay offers a poignant snapshot of the economic distress endured by the region following the conclusion of war in 1748. This detailed account sheds light on the hardships faced by the communities in the southern maritime provinces. The work includes supplementary observations on the cities of Aix, Marseilles, and Toulon, providing a comprehensive overview of the region's challenges and conditions during this period.
Mildmay's observations provide valuable insights into the social and economic realities of 18th-century France, making this a vital resource for historians and anyone interested in understanding the historical context of the region.
