Part philosophy, part scientific examination, A Reality Beyond Science by Stephen VandeCarr is a fascinating journey into mind, matter, time, and the nature of reality. Examining the concept of an 'emergent' god, the author uses the strands of science and philosophy to dissect the mysterious power of the human mind. He goes well beyond a typical cautionary tale in regards to technology to provide a view of what this power means. Interspersed with scientific data, the author prompts readers to begin thinking esoterically in terms of the potential future evolution of the cosmos-the cosmos that has produced mind and volition. From the disciplines of science to the mysterious power of mathematics, the author procures a thoughtful analysis of time, process, and the often misunderstood nature of randomness. He discusses his views on the essence of the self, and the idea that for each conscious being there is a unique perspective-a private cosmos that no one else can know.
