A Mile in Their Shoes is the first in a series of contemporary short story collections by C. Russell Jones. Written to entertain as well as enlighten, these three short stories and three novellas together offer a spiritual glimpse into the regular and irregular lives of some everyday characters.
The Magic Mart tells the story of a woman who is at a crossroads when she meets an unlikely friend, leading her to a spiritual reawakening and helping her find her purpose.
In Lines, an angel instigates a surprising standoff by forming a resistance team against an elitist society of people who have discovered they are part of the royal line of the biblical King David.
Just Joe introduces a bartender who believes he's an angel sent to rescue his patrons-and who does his best to complete his mission.
The dark comedy The Marvin Snafu jumps the moral line with a retired man who decides to rob banks when he's blindsided by the loss of his pension-only to have his booty end up in the most unexpected place.
With rich characters set in unique circumstances, these stories will have you both amused and reflective.
