Unconvincing attempts by the police to trace DS Alex Norton, believed to have been abducted by the trafficking gang, having failed miserably it seemed the only ones really determined to discover what had happened to her were Alex's sister Kate and the maverick Interpol agent Thorn. But then, just as it appeared they might be getting warm, Kate too had disappeared in circumstances remarkably similar to her sister.
