CARY HENDRIX JR. comes forth with his SIXTH BOOK. He was born and raised in THE JIM CROW SOUTH; attended THE BAPTIST CHURCH of MARTIN LUTHER KING SR. in ATLANTA. He moved to DETROIT at the age of fourteen, after the death of his mother. MR HENDRIX served in the U.S. NAVY, graduated from WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY with A BACHELOR of SCIENCE in EDUCATION. Along the way HE LEARNED TO PAINT and DRAW. He is currently A PAINTER, A CARTOONIST and A WRITER. In 1986 he was featured in an article on struggling cartoonists by THE DETROIT FREE PRESS. He has been A WINNER in THE DETROIT FREE PRESS CAPTION CONTESTS more THAN 48 times. In 2023, his second book IN BLACK AND WHITE was awarded THE PENCRAFT AWARD and THE INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD. In 2025, his third book, RIGHT CAN BE WRONG, was awarded THE LITERARY TITAN AWARD. He writes ONE LINERS in a world that craves STORIES, so he IS IN UPHILL BATTLE. In addition, HE SELF PUBLISHES and is not A PART OF THE ESTABLISHMENT. MR HENDRIX has dedicated HIMSELF to trying to speak TRUTH as HE SEES IT. This book is his FURTHER ATTEMPT TO DO SO.
