Osoosi could put an arrow through a leaf at the far end of a field. It made no difference. When he walked into a town, people looked away - only a hunter, they said, nobody much.
So when he went looking for an old sacred grove and never found it, that should have been the end of a wasted journey. Except the road he was walking that day was the same road a family was walking, carrying a girl they believed was gone.
He asked to see her face. And then he refused to take the credit.
Retold from a verse of Obara Eguntan, this is a story for the ones who are overlooked, and turn out to be exactly who was needed.
A square full-colour picture book for ages 5-9, with a glossary of Yoruba words and a note for grown-ups.
