「心」是什麼？
這個問題困擾了人類文明數千年。哲學家用語言描述它，宗教師用體驗傳遞它，科學家用儀器測量它，心理學家用行為分析它--然而至今，「心」依然是最難被精確定義的詞。困難的根源在於：所有試圖解釋「心」的語言，本身也是「心」的產物。用心解釋心，是一個遞迴困境，如同眼睛無法直視自己。
佛教唯識學走得最深。它提出八識的精密架構，把心意識分層解析，指出阿賴耶識是輪迴的根本，末那識是我執的根源，前六識是感知與思惟的工具--這是人類思想史上對「心」最嚴密的一次解剖。然而，唯識的語言艱深，注疏浩瀚，即使學佛多年的人，也難以把八識的運作與自身的日常經驗清楚對應。
《幻心論》正是為了填補這道落差而寫的。作者透過自創的「M轉換」方法，將兩千年的唯識心理學重新以系統工程的語言解碼--把阿賴耶識（Ālaya）、「妄心王」（Ego-King）、「觀照」（Witnessing）等經典概念，對應到一套可檢驗、可推導的架構之中。這不是比喻，而是結構上的對應。
全書從個體意識的架構出發，向外延伸至細胞、動物與宇宙的尺度，再轉向業力、輪迴，以及貫穿整個系統的工程數學。最終呈現的，是一套嚴謹的跨領域框架，適合對佛教哲學、心靈哲學，或工程與意識研究交會之處感興趣的讀者。
