When a modern-day historian uncovers a mysterious letter from the past, she unlocks more than just secrets-she opens a door to another time.
In 2016 Alabama, Dr. Neely Shaw lives for forgotten history and hidden places. But when she discovers a decaying farmhouse and a brittle old letter dated 1907 that references the future National Register of Historic Places, her curiosity turns into obsession. Her research leads her to the long-abandoned Mountain Lodge Hotel, once a grand Southern resort shrouded in mystery and rumored to be haunted by tragedy.
Drawn to the site, Neely and her architect friend Josh Carraway stumble upon a hidden portal-and are suddenly transported back to the hotel's golden age. Now caught in a different century, Neely must navigate a vanished world, a chilling past, and unexpected romance as she uncovers the truth behind a century-old disappearance.

Netgalley review A paranormal aspect as well as time-travel, romance, and historical fiction. I love the mix, the writing, and the author did a great job with all the characters as they, along with the story, will take you on a journey, on a ride you won't forget in a hurry. Netgalley review I actually felt all these people's emotions. It felt as if I had a connection with them. I am so in love with the characters; by the way, they felt so real that I almost tried to Google them. I would 1000% recommend reading this book... Reader review
Set in 1906, this has a little bit that goes from past to present; it is a book of magic. It was a wonderful book... Netgalley review
I loved the idea of this story; it uses time travel perfectly, and I enjoyed how well everything worked overall. The characters worked well with what I was expecting, and I thought they were written perfectly. I enjoyed the history element and enjoyed the mystery elements and how it worked with the romance element.... Reader review
Prepare for a journey where historical relics, ghostly sightings, and the allure of the past converge, leaving Neely-and readers-questioning the boundaries between the tangible and the mystical.... Reader review
I was hooked within the first couple of chapters. The transitions between the different time periods was very smooth in my opinion. The way the author was able to connect all the different years together and keep it entertaining... I would recommend this to my fellow book lovers for a nice romance, history, and a mystery all wrapped up in one... Reader review
