Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Arizona Cardinals are a professional football team based in Glendale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. They are currently members of the Western Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League. The Cardinals were founded in 1898, and are the oldest continuously run professional American football club in the United States. The team was established in Chicago in 1898 and was a charter member of the NFL in 1920. The 1961 St. Louis Cardinals season was the 42nd season the team was in the league and their second in St. Louis. The team improved on their previous output of 6-5-1, winning seven games. Despite the improvement, they failed to qualify for the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season. During the season, the Cardinals were coached by Pop Ivy, who was replaced after a 5-7 start by the tandem of Chuck Drulis, Ray Prochaska, and Ray Willsey.
