It's 1943 and the midst of war. Rose, a nurse, starts a penpal scheme, and meets Edward, a sailor. At first, their relationship is in letters only, but when Edward is granted shore leave he arranges to meet Rose. After their first date, they both realise they are in love with one another. But that love will get them in trouble. Can they overcome their feelings, and the war? This story was inspired by a BBC4 Storytime Show that was narrated by Billy Boyd (Lord of The Rings).
