One More Score is a heartfelt novella that explores the meaning of friendship, the struggles of aging, and the lure of unfulfilled dreams.
Around the middle of the twentieth century, scientific advances changed the world. Humans split the atom, developed computers, created robotics, and cracked the genetic code. It was only a matter of time before people started applying this new science to improving the human body, and the first supers came into existence.
In this alternative-history earth where the average person can gain superpowers, there are three types of people. Normal people, called Norms, don't have powers. Duds tried to get powers and failed becoming mutant humans with horrible deformities. They are shunned by society. Supers have superpowers, and many reach the heights of fame and fortune.
SafeCracker is an aging supervillain specializing in bank heists. With times changing and age slowing SafeCracker down, Gene, the supervillain's head henchman and friend of forty years, tries to convince his boss to retire, but a new team member has other plans.
Carmella - young, ambitious, and attractive - fills SafeCracker's head with dreams of a comeback crime spree that threatens to ruin everything. Faced with two possibilities, SafeCracker must choose between lifelong friendship and the possibility of One More Score.
