The Apostle John had walked with Jesus for three years. He saw first hand the power Jesus displayed when casting out demons, stilling the storm, and raising Lazarus from the dead. He heard the parables, the prayers, and the preaching. And he felt - deep in his heart - the vast, incomprehensible love of God. John was radically changed by those days with Jesus. Once a selfish, hot-headed, self-promoting fisherman, he was transformed into a humble, patient, Christ-following pastor. This is his letter. In 1 John: A Bible+Doodle Study for Students you will read the letter John wrote to Christians who needed to know the Jesus that John knew so well. At a time when false teachers were spreading lies about Jesus and the gospel, John wrote to remind his doubting congregation of the simple, transforming truth they believed. God is light, life, and love. Jesus is the Messiah. You are forgiven, victorious, and know the truth. You are a beloved child of God. Through prayer, study, and creative doodling and journaling, you too will be reminded of the simple truths of this unchanging message that has the power to transform hearts and lives. Your heart will be awed by the relentless love of God. You will learn to walk in His ways and love like He loves. And like John's first readers, you will find lasting assurance and joy in being God's child.
