The East Wing held secrets that were never to be known or told. Not for a moment had Helena considered going into such a dangerous part of the house, until one day she did.
For all of Helena's life the East Wing had been locked up and to enter would have consequences too frightening to think about, or so she had been told. But the pull to uncover the secrets was becoming stronger every day, and she could no longer ignore it. One way or another she had to discover what had remained hidden for all these years.
More often than not there was conflict in the house, and Helena found herself the one the others would come to for help. She wondered if life in the house would ever change and they would all get along, but even with their differences they needed each other to survive. Though they trusted no-one not even themselves.
When an enigmatic stranger, Manny, arrives Helena reluctantly comes to realise he was the answer to her prayer, or rather the prayers of fifteen year old Grace. At first, Helena struggles to trust Manny but he wins her over and she comes to rely on him in ways she didn't expect. Manny was a mystery turning up unexpectedly but always at the right time. Even more astonishing is the others eventually accept him too.
Helena finally accepts that understanding her past is the only way forward, and with Manny's help she begins the journey of finding the truth of who she really is.
