vigil velas is the second book of a trilogy, following the publication of when Supernova dies. the red book is a poetry collective with art detailing the stages of grief regarding anger and rage. in other words, seeing red. the author shares her lived experiences losing a lover to illness and overdose. the story takes place during the pandemic of 2020 and year two of bereavement. she explores her sexuality as a queer latinx woman while enduring and combatting the hardships of capitalism.
