A short story about online learning.
Uniquely Australian characters bring to life a modern-day dilemma faced by students and teachers.
Timely, quirky and relatable.
This technology-themed story will delight primary school readers, while serving as an important conversation starter for parents and teachers.
With a termite attack forcing the closure of the Flying Academy for Young Galahs, Wing Commander Grey is transitioning his class to online learning. Gabbo and his friends are looking forward to video conferencing with the acclaimed Intergalactic Flying Operations Specialist, Pilot Wingstrong .... as long as technology issues don't get in the way!
The Zooming Owl is a must-read for primary aged children engaging in any level of online learning. The reflection questions at the end provide guidance for teachers and parents to help kids understand this new way of communicating and learning.
Oh my goodness! I'm giddy with excitement. This is sooo sooo good and I think it is going to be a HUGE hit. I could read this story all day long. - Julie Smith, The Techie Teacher.
As an aunty of two little boys who love to do nothing but play with filters when we video chat, I can safely say that this book is a godsend. A fun way of introducing some much-needed guidelines of e-learning, and online etiquette in general - and a great story as well! The boys are going to LOVE it! - Rachel
