This historical account details the origins and early years of the Zoological Society of London. Founded in 1826, the society aimed to advance zoology and animal physiology, and to introduce new and curious subjects of the animal kingdom.
The book explores the society's establishment, its initial challenges, and its contributions to scientific understanding. It offers insights into the prominent figures involved in the society and their impact on the field of zoology. Zoological Society Of London provides a valuable record of a key institution in the history of zoological study and conservation efforts.
