My wife sat across from me at the dining room table, and I could smell her amygdala. A weaponized mutation of Alzheimers has ravaged the country, invading a sleepy community near the happiest place on earth. There, the virus claims another victim: Adam Zevon, loving husband and all-around nice guy. 'Zheimer's: Positive. As Adam tries to survive in the overgrown suburban wasteland, he must feed the empty hunger growing inside of him and somehow remain human. Can Adam protect his wife from his own culinary urges? Can he overcome the disease in time to reclaim his humanity? Or will Adam succumb to his addiction to brain matter and let his life collapse around him? Disturbingly graphic and poignant, Z+ slides the reader on a sickening descent into raw animal nature - and rediscovers what it means to be human.
