A tragic event in the village forces two young men, Onesimus and Ben, to flee for their lives, being pursued by a vengeful mob. They narrowly escape the mob's wrath but are unable to return home due to the threat of the mob's return. They set out on a long trip to a town where their uncle owns a large farm, hoping to find safety there. However, they arrive late for the last leg of the trip and miss the last bus. They set out on foot along a rough road, which is particularly dangerous after dark. Along the way, they are fortunate to get a ride from a man named Mike, who later convinces them to spend the night at his home. However, Mike soon discovers that the two gentlemen are fleeing from a crime scene where a young lady has died, and the authorities have placed a substantial reward for their arrest. He grapples with the temptation of the reward and his moral values. As Mike ponders, he convinces the two young men to stay for a day and assist with some work. As the two gentlemen help Mike with the job, he realizes that they, especially Ben, have the potential to assist him in reclaiming a property he had lost in a local community game.
Unfortunately, their attempt to help Mike is unsuccessful, and later, Ben goes missing. Onesimus's alternative idea to help Mike regain his property also fails, and he hatches a plan to escape from Mike's place with the help of one Amanda. Along the escape tunnel, he stumbles into Ben, who is gagged and his hands tied. Together, they arrive at Rob's home. Ben goes missing again under mysterious circumstances, and Onesimus realizes he is ensnared by Rob, who, unbeknownst to Onesimus, is attempting to steal his creative work. After a harrowing experience planned by Rob involving Bella, his wife, Onesimus narrowly escapes a potentially fatal situation, and Rob is ultimately jailed for his crimes, including the tragic death of Ben. As time passes, Onesimus finds an opportunity to present his creativity, talent, and business ideas in the US, where he gains the admiration of many investors. He becomes successful and returns home, not only with financial success but also with a newfound sense of purpose. He works toward political changes for the betterment of his society, using his success as a platform to make a real difference.
