Your Silence Blossomed Light shares the yearning for connection and intimacy during early adulthood. The struggle of becoming easily infatuated while exploring sexuality and the heartbreaking experiences of being in romantic relationships for the first time. In an effort to cope with the ignorance and frustrations of attachment, Hallett used poetry to move through these difficult emotions. His longing felt superficial and misunderstood in a world of hookup culture where the feeling is unrequited, or through a lens of wishful thinking and unrealistic expectations that generate delusion. The experience of neglect and toxicity while dating fueled his writing in a very vulnerable tone of pain and melancholy. Slowly he learned more by reflecting on behaviors in himself and others, figuring out what was missing each time. He still craved something so natural and human- love. To feel lonely and touch-starved is a dangerous thing. Hallett found peace silently reflecting and picking battles to help him let go of situations that were never going to blossom in the first place.
