High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Young People's Socialist League (YPSL) was a socialist youth organization established in 1907 and affiliated with the Socialist Party of America. The youth section of the Socialist Party of America (SPA) had its roots in non-coordinated groups established at the local level by party members interested in conducting special activities to attract young people to the socialist movement. These groups have diverse names, including the Athenian Literary Society, Young People's Alliance, and Social Science Study Club. The Young People's Socialist League (YPSL, pronounced YIP-sell) was founded on May 17, 1907, in Chicago, Illinois, with the group containing about 30 members at the time of its formation.
