Children young and old will love this endearing story about a child's reaction to the discouraging words of strangers. This gentle reminder that even though life seems difficult and unfair sometimes, everyone brings value to the world exactly as is!
Teacher of thirty years exclaims, This is a great book! Hurry, publish, I want to share this book over and over with my grandchildren.
Another seasoned teacher states, This book is a springboard for teaching children the importance of accepting others and themselves as unique individuals. It is a reminder that differences should be embraced and celebrated. This is definitely a message that children need to hear.
Growing up is tough when you feel you don't fit in the way others think you should. A mother shares a story with her son to demonstrate that he is a necessary piece of a bigger picture and that it is important to be true to himself. The story helps the young boy to understand that differences can be strengths and that he really is just right.
This little book prompts children and adults to think about words that can be thoughtless, hurtful, or unhelpful and to look for what makes each person unique. The story's narrative creates an opportunity for parents and children to talk about everything from sensitive subjects like bullying to a fun and imaginative exploration of a child's thoughts and dreams.
This loving exchange between a mother and son seeks to assure, not only to this little boy, but all children and grown-ups, that there is some special, one-of-a-kind gift we bring to the world.
