In 1979, an eighteen-year-old American boy was recruited into the U.S. Air Force Scout program, trained to kill through systematic psychological conditioning, and deployed into classified CIA proxy wars across Central America and the Middle East. Over two and a half years, Rubicon executed 18 combat assignments across 14 unacknowledged operations. He directed AC-130H gunship strikes that slaughtered thousands. He killed more than 300 human beings with his own hands. When his conscience finally shattered and he refused to kill further, the military stripped him of his medals-including the Air Force Cross, two Silver Stars, and four Bronze Stars (V)-falsified his discharge papers with the code APATHY, and threw him away.
