A reluctant healer. A cursed bodyguard. A rune that turns strength into a dangerous choice.
Liv Aune knows how to calm frightened bodies. At her muddy, underfunded wildlife sanctuary, every injured animal, broken fence, and late-night crisis lands in her hands. Control keeps things alive. Control keeps disaster from winning.
Then Erik Voss arrives in a storm, carrying a rune-marked aurochs horn and a curse waking beneath his skin.
The magic is Uruz: strength, endurance, wild survival. But the Hollow Aett has twisted it into something brutal, using iron restraints, bloodline experiments, and medical obedience to turn living people into weapons. Erik believes containment is the only moral answer to what he might become. Liv believes she can keep him safe.
Neither of them understands, at first, that care can become a cage.
As Hollow hunters close in and the Uruz shadow grows harder to resist, Liv and Erik must learn a new kind of strength: one built on consent, trust, recovery, and the courage to be witnessed. Because the rune will not awaken for ownership. It will not answer to fear.
It will only answer to what is freely chosen.
Wild as Iron is Book 2 of The Runic Romance Series, an adult fantasy romance with a complete central love story, open-door heat, dangerous magic, forced proximity, wounded protectors, and a continuing series mystery.
