As an elementary teacher, I constantly create engaging lesson plans and activities for my students. While teaching my grade one Science students about Hibernation and Migration, the ideas for these books Where Sleeps The Bear? and Where flies The Bird? were conceptualized. I loved using storybooks that creatively explained academic topics, which was a valuable tool in keeping them engaged and active in their learning. In addition, I was able to use this topic to facilitate literacy activities that helped students learn how to read better. An interdisciplinary approach? Yes!
