But it might have something to do with a secret hidden in the wheat-sheaf medallion that she has inherited from her mother, an agricultural scientist who worked for Koropco Industries and died in an automobile accident when Celia was a baby.

As Celia and Dominic journey together north through an inhospitable landscape, altered as much by corporate greed as climate change, they receive assistance from an eclectic cast of Outsiders.
