This book introduces children to the importance of treating animals with kindness and understanding they are beings with feelings and emotions. There is age appropriate discussion about dairy products and baby calves being separated from their mothers so the milk can be taken to make food for humans. Concepts of vegetarianism and veganism are presented as alternative options to traditional dairy products and all the foods we can eat that do not harm animals. Treating animals with kindness and respect is the prevailing theme. There is an image of a mother breastfeeding a child.
