Wanderer

His house is fortified. His food is rationed. His routine keeps him alive.

When fire destroys much of his remaining supplies and scavengers close in, he is forced to abandon the only place he has left and head into the mountains in search of a rescue group he has heard only through radio broadcasts. With dwindling food, an infected wound, and no certainty that anyone is still out there, every mile takes him farther from safety and deeper into a world reclaimed by violence, hunger, and the dead.

All that remains of his journey is the journal he carried with him.

And how far one person will wander for the hope that he is not truly alone.
