Apulburthorpb.--Apparently an error for Apuldercombe. Apuldkrcomue, Isle Op Wight.--A cell to the Benedictine abbey of St. Mary de Montisburg, in Normandy, founded about the bitter end of the reign of Henry III, and dissolved with other alien priories in 2 Hen. V. Cabrleox, Monmouthshire.--Otherwise Caeruske, an abbey of the Cistercian order, founder unknown. Caermarthen.--A house of Friars Minors, said to be dependent on the house of that order at Bristol. Colchester, Essex.--The house of Friars-Minors here was founded in 1309 by Robert, Lord Fitzwalter, near the east gate of the town. Coventry.--Friars-Minors were established here shortly after their coming into England in 1224, on a site given by Ranulpb, earl of Chester, out of his manor of Cheylesmore. Dore, Herefordshire.--An abbey of the Cistercian order, founded by Robert de Ewyas, temp. Stephen. Dedication, the Virgin Mary. 118. 0-. 2d. Grastein, or Grestbin.--A Benedictine house, founded by Herlouin de Conteville about the year 1040, on a site near the mouth of tbe Seine. Grave, Priory De La, Herts.--An alien priory at Grovebury, in tbe parish of Leighton Buzzard, given by Henry II to the nuns of Fonterrault, in Normandy. Easeborne, Sussex.--A priory for six Benedictine nuns under - prioress, founded by Sir John Bohun, of Midhurst, in the latter part of the reign of Henry III. 47. 3-. Od.
