The Wonderful Narrative: Or A Faithful Account Of The French Prophets, Their Agitations, Ecstasies, And Inspirations (1742) is a book written by Charles Chauncy that provides a detailed account of the French Prophets movement. The movement was a religious phenomenon that emerged in France in the early 18th century and spread to other parts of Europe. The French Prophets were known for their ecstatic and prophetic experiences, which included speaking in tongues, convulsions, and visions. Chauncy's book offers a comprehensive overview of the French Prophets movement, including its origins, beliefs, practices, and impact on society. He describes the various leaders and followers of the movement, as well as their interactions with the wider community. The book also explores the controversies and criticisms surrounding the French Prophets, including accusations of fraud and deception.
