Behind that simple instruction lies a world of mischief, chaos, difficult decisions, and the quiet triumphs that keep a school running.

In WOMO: Wait Outside My Office, readers step inside The Oddenham School, seen through the sharp eyes of Deputy Head James Glover. Told in an entertaining mockumentary style, this humorous fictional memoir offers a candid and energetic look at life inside a British secondary school during the closing decades of the twentieth century and the opening years of the 2000's.

Everyone has attended a school. But very few understand what it takes to keep one functioning day after day.

Through vivid anecdotes and memorable characters, James reveals the reality behind the classroom doors, from mischievous students and staffroom politics to the constant pressures created by changing government policies.

Blending wit, honesty, and insightful observation, Wait Outside My Office captures the absurdities, challenges, and rewards of educating young people during their most turbulent years.

Written by a long-serving Deputy Head, the story brings authenticity, humour, and historical perspective to the everyday drama of school life.

Funny, insightful and deeply human, WOMO is a distinctive portrait of the people who keep the heart of a school beating.
