Woman, Wait for Your Husband is a must-read book in which author Gladys Delores Goins shares how she spent 25 of her 26 years of marriage coping with infidelity. Throughout her marriage, infidelity was a constant issue, which ultimately led to divorce. Her four children understood the situation, as her husband's chronic substance abuse and the women who enabled his habits made it clear that divorce was her only option to protect her children. After the divorce, she found healing as a single mother responsible for raising their children.
Gladys offers advice to single women, emphasizing the importance of not judging a man solely by his outward appearance. She stresses the need to learn about his background and the importance of communication. Desperation, she warns, can lead to regret. Marriage is not a Cinderella fairy tale where everything leads to happily ever after. Both partners must work together as one flesh, with God at the center of their relationship for it to succeed.After realizing her mistake in choosing her husband at the young age of 23, Gladys repented to God, recognizing that she had been trying to make a marriage work between two people who were not in agreement. As Amos 3:3 says, How can two walks together unless they agree?
