With Mounted Infantry in Tibet is a historical account of the British military expedition to Tibet in 1903-1904, written by W.J. Ottley, who was a member of the expedition. The book provides a detailed description of the events leading up to the expedition, including the diplomatic tensions between Britain and Tibet, and the military preparations that were made. It then goes on to describe the journey to Tibet, the battles that were fought, and the eventual capture of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. The book also includes numerous photographs and maps, as well as personal anecdotes and observations from Ottley himself. Overall, With Mounted Infantry in Tibet offers a fascinating insight into a little-known period of British military history, and provides a valuable record of the expedition and its impact on Tibet and the wider region. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
