In Witchcraft With a Bipolar Brain: Building a Spiritual Practice That Works With You, The Magickal Appalachian draws from more than thirty years of lived experience with Bipolar I Disorder to explore what it means to build a spiritual practice around the brain and life you actually have-not the perfectly consistent witch you think you are supposed to become.
This is not a book about using witchcraft to treat bipolar disorder, and it is not a replacement for medication, therapy, professional care, or treatment. It is a book about being a witch while living with bipolar disorder and finding ways for those parts of your life to coexist without shame, fear, or constant pressure to practice like everyone else.

There is no perfect bipolar witch hiding somewhere beneath better discipline, a prettier altar, or a more impressive spiritual routine.
You can be magical and medicated. You can be intuitive and still reality-check yourself. You can need sleep before spellwork, let a question remain unanswered, put the cards away, miss a moon, change your mind, and come back months later without owing your practice an apology.
Your bipolar disorder does not have to look like anyone else's, and neither does your witchcraft.
You do not have to practice against your brain. You can build a spiritual practice that works with you.
