Was Wisdom created-or did she always exist with God?
Proverbs 8:22 stands at the center of one of Christianity's most consequential debates. The Hebrew verb qānâ has been translated possessed, acquired, and created. The ancient Greek version explicitly says created me. Yet the New Testament calls Christ the Wisdom of God and presents the Logos as already existing in the beginning.
