Winnetou The Apache Knight is a novel written by Karl May, originally published in 1893. The story is set in the American Old West and follows the adventures of the Apache warrior Winnetou and his German friend, Old Shatterhand. The two become blood brothers and work together to fight against injustice and oppression, particularly against the white settlers who are encroaching on Native American lands. Along the way, they encounter various challenges and obstacles, including hostile tribes, greedy businessmen, and corrupt officials. The novel explores themes of friendship, loyalty, courage, and the clash of cultures between Native Americans and white settlers. It has become a classic of German literature and has been adapted into numerous films and television series. When he had heard all there was to learn of me he bowed his head, saying: You are at the beginning of the conflict which I am ending, but you need not fear. You have the good God with you who will never forsake you. It was otherwise with me. I had lost my God when I left home, or rather was driven from it, and instead of the staff of strong faith I took with me the worst companion a man can have--a bad conscience. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
