A shy Michigan grocery clerk, Amy Makowski worried that she'd never get the man of her dreams to notice her. Since the sixth grade she had a crush on her brother's friend. Unfortunately, all he was interested in was hockey. Ten years later, she gets a chance to help the man she's grown to love obtain his lifelong ambition. Amy almost had given up hope that her dreams would ever come true, but her heart refused to let her. Would her best friend play cupid for Amy or does she suspect Amy is secretly carrying a torch for someone else? Will Amy be true to her heart as well as her promises? Growing up in a rural farming community, Adam LaPointe had been expected to follow in his father's footsteps as all the generations before him had. Adam though, had other plans. Ever since he was a young boy playing pond hockey, he had dreamed of becoming a professional hockey player. A decade later, Adam's goal is just within reach until circumstances beyond his control alter his life. With determination and an unexpected twist of fate Adam realizes that the dreams he had been chasing all these years may not be what he wanted after all. Will Adam's life take a different course? Begin the journey with Adam and Amy as they experience the many triumphs and hardships during the late seventies in the little town of Spencer. Although it may be a small town, all the family and friends living there are notorious for their big hearts. Come along and join them all as they learn, laugh and love through the years.
