William Rice: A Memorial is a book published in 1898 in honor of William North Rice, a prominent American educator and biblical scholar. The book is a collection of essays, speeches, and personal recollections written by some of Rice's closest friends and colleagues, including fellow educators, clergymen, and scholars. The book begins with a biographical sketch of Rice's life, detailing his upbringing, education, and career. It then delves into his contributions to the fields of education and biblical studies, including his work as a professor at Wesleyan University and his involvement in the American Society of Biblical Literature. Throughout the book, contributors pay tribute to Rice's character and personality, describing him as a kind, generous, and deeply spiritual individual. They also reflect on his impact on their own lives and the lives of countless others, both through his academic work and his personal relationships. Overall, William Rice: A Memorial offers a comprehensive look at the life and legacy of a highly respected figure in American education and biblical scholarship. It serves as both a tribute to Rice's accomplishments and a testament to the lasting impact he had on those who knew him. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
