William Edward Biederwolf: A Biography is a comprehensive account of the life and legacy of one of the most influential evangelists of the early 20th century. Written by Ray E. Garrett, this book delves into the personal and professional life of Biederwolf, tracing his journey from a young boy growing up in rural Michigan to a renowned preacher who traveled the world spreading the gospel. The book explores Biederwolf's early years, his education, and his early ministry experiences, including his work as a YMCA secretary and his time spent as a pastor in various churches. It also delves into his involvement with the Moody Bible Institute and his role in the founding of the World's Christian Fundamentals Association, which played a key role in the development of fundamentalist Christianity in the early 20th century.Throughout the book, Garrett provides a vivid portrait of Biederwolf's preaching style, his impact on the religious landscape of his time, and his enduring legacy. Drawing on a wealth of primary sources, including Biederwolf's own writings, letters, and sermons, as well as interviews with family members and colleagues, Garrett paints a rich and nuanced portrait of this fascinating figure.Overall, William Edward Biederwolf: A Biography is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of American Christianity, the development of fundamentalism, or the life and work of one of the most influential evangelists of the early 20th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
