Why did the Nazis commit genocide against the Jews? Is it possible to finally find a way of explaining the mystery of the Holocaust? For Jan Horník, the key to finding such an explanation is to focus on Hitler's worldview. For this reason, the book consists of Hitler's original writings, accompanied by detailed comments. Looking for a firm basis on which to build a workable explanation, the author painstakingly investigates why Nazism was racist and so fanatically anti-Semitic. In the last chapter, he reveals Hitler's motive for genocide. In doing so, the author tears down the myth about the Holocaust being rationally inexplicable. He shows that Hitler's anti-Semitism cannot be explained by the course of previous historical events, since Hitler's fanatical hatred was rooted in fairly modern ideologies. At the same time, the reader will find out that Hitler's overall worldview not only has its exact logic, but also corresponds with the scientific worldview of modern man. Apparently, our civilization has not yet rejected all theoretical sources of the totalitarian Nazi regime.
