A eulogy to the dead
This book is dedicated to my parents Shashikant (Shashikant Dwarkadas Parekh, popularly known as 'Sait' in the sports scene) and Medha Manubhai Desai nee Parekh (Gujarati writer, artist, and homemaker), a glimpse into the strange world of Chindian royalty. It's a tongue in cheek take on Chindia's metamorphosis into a modern ''Mandi''. A coming of age story of global netizens traversing the minefield of the mating world.
An attempt by the author as a middle aged mother to convey she is 'not amused'. An initial foray into the world of writing that leads to things more serious. The story revolves around the female protagonist 'Peenahima' which quite literally translates to a dehydrated mother itching for a drink. The author has attempted to inject humour using wordplay and encourages the reader to interpret the hidden layers within the humour in the book. The mystery unfolds to highlight social issues like corruption, sex trafficking and child abuse, a satirical look at sexual expression in two different cultures. The advent of social media, bullying and the impact of technology and surveillance devices in determining the fate of society as it evolves in the mating world.
The story traces the layers of her relationships and the faux -thenticity around them interwoven into the mystery of a stolen puppy.
Disclaimer: Whilst the author herself is a fallen martyr of the corporate world and loved all things tech, this book was written without the assistance of AI. ''Loose Lee'' based on real life events. The poetry in my book is inspired by my late grand aunt Annie Saraiya (published author of over thirty nine books and 1008 songs)
