This book is not a conventional political analysis filled with jargon and academic theories. Instead, it is a personal exploration of how India's political system has changed in recent years-from the concentration of power at the center to the rise of nationalism, from the growing influence of propaganda to the suppression of dissent. Each chapter examines these themes through key events, policies, and movements that have shaped contemporary Indian politics.
I do not claim to have all the answers, nor do I seek to persuade the reader toward a specific ideology. My aim is simply to raise questions, present perspectives, and spark discussions about the kind of democracy India is evolving into. As citizens, voters, and participants in this democratic process, it is crucial for us to understand these shifts, not just from the lens of political parties but from the perspective of what they mean for governance, institutions, and the common people.
